The Civil Register for the Gore contains the following entry:
Parker Baptized Richard son of Edward Parker of Gore and of his wife Jane
Dawson was born upon the twenty seventh day of September one thousand eight hundred
and forty one and baptized twenty eight day of November in the same year

On January 28, 1869 at Cookshire he married Sarah Peppin Jones, the daughter
of Sarah E. Peppin and Asher Jones. Richard and Sarah had no children. Sarah
died on June 26, 1894.
After her death Richard married Margaret Young-Morrison, born April 1848, who
had been married to Henry Morrison, related to the Lakefield Morrisons (see
The Parker - Morrison Descendants). Margaret and Henry had a daughter, Edith
Mary Morrison, born August 28, 1889, who married Marshall Newell Wesley Rand,
born August 22, 1888 and they live in Sawyerville, QC.
Richard Parker's step-daughter, Mrs. Marshall Rand, wrote on April 24, 1945:
"I am not really related to the Parkers except through marriage. My name
before marriage was Edith Mary Morrison. I also have a brother, Frank. When
we were small children my father, Henry Morrison of Lachute, died. My mother
(Margaret Young-Morrison) later married Richard Parker of Sawyerville, QC.
Richard's first wife was Sarah Jones and died in 1894. She was from England,
daughter of Asher Jones. Richard died in August 1902 and my mother, in September
1937. I was married to Marshall Rand in June 1910. He died in 1939. I have
3 children, all married. I am keeping house for my brother-in-law who lives
at Birchton, QC."
Marshall Rand died accidentally July 18, 1939. After Marshall's death Edith
married Alan Williams. Edith Mary Morrison died September 17, 1968. Frank Leslie
Morrison, born August 12, 1894, died March 17, 1970. Sarah, Margaret, Marshall,
Edith and Frank are buried at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Randboro, QC.
In the Sawyerville area where Richard lived and died in 1902, and was buried,
he was known as Sandy Dick. Margaret Young Morrison
was born in Apr 1848. She died in Sep 1937. She was buried in Maple Leaf Cemetery,
Randboro, Compton County, Quebec. He was married to Sarah Peppin Jones (daughter
of Asher Jones and Sarah E Pippen) on
28 Jan 1869 in Cookshire, Quebec. Sarah Peppin Jones
died on 26 Jun 1894. She was buried in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Randboro, Compton
County, Quebec. |
