Before her marriage Karen worked in the Bethesda Maryland.

Karen had not been able to become pregnant, so she entered hospital to have a very minor operation, which would probably enable her to become pregnant. Something went wrong and she died. Her body was brought to Vernon BC where she was buried.

Her married life was all spent in Germany.

She was married to Bernd Rohde (son of Erwin Rohde and Margot) on 18 Jan 1974 in Glindel Hamberg Germany.
