Matthew HAMMOND

This is the line of Mary Hammond, my great great grandmother and wife of James Hamilton. Her Father, Matthew Hammond, arrived in Canada in 1830 with his family from County Cavan Ulster Ireland. He and his children settled in the Gore of Two Mountains, which is now Gore Township, Argenteuil County, Quebec, close to Lachute and the Ottawa River. The Village of Lakefield is the where the township offices are located today.
