477 ii Cedar Reuben Rain Lopatecki was born on 15 Jun 2005 on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia.

So these are the first pictures we've gotten back of our new attachment, Taeven Salal Lopatecki. since
evryone asks, the name Taeven was made up by Colin, and Salal is a local native proliferant bush here that
has yummy berries on it. she was born on sept 8, a very fall feeling day, in our little home. everything
went wonderfully well with no complications, and took a total of about 6 hours. Our midwife was great, she
helped make everything go right along easily and smoothly. Taeven weighed 7 lbs 8 oz, and has already
gained 1 lb 5 oz in her first two weeks of life. we took a week and a half and just stayed home, snuggled,
went on a few walks, and basically just hibernated with this new life. hope everyone is doing well out
there in your various corners of the world, we hope you enjoy the photos and also hope that we will see
some of you very soon!! ?

Colin announces to the family the arrival of his son

Hello to everyone!  We have finally gotten ourselves enough small moments of time to get our photos organized enough to send out to all of you.  We got home from our birthing holiday on Salt Spring Island (we can't have a birth here on Pender because of the absence of backup hospital facilities)  a week and a half ago. and are all happy to be home.  We had a great time meeting some wonderful people, including the folks who opened up space in their house for our home away from home birth.  We had a very quick birth, a whole 4 hours of rather intense labour, but everything went without complications and we all recovered well.  Taeven stayed and watched the whole thing, including front row view of Cedar coming rocketting out.  it was wonderful to have her stay with so much excitment and enthusiasm.  He was 8lbs 3ozs, born June 15th, 9:30pm, Cedar Reuben Rain Lopatecki.
