3. John Hamilton was born on 8 Feb 1835 in Gore Township, District 17, Quebec. He died on 17 Dec 1909 in Randborough Quebec. He was buried in Mapleleaf Cemetry near Randborough. Grandma Carr did not have information on who he married but noted he had 16 children. His birth date comes from the census of 1851 and Paul Montgomery provided pictures of his sons and daughters. Mildred Waldren provided much of other data I have.

Census of 1861 Gore, Argetneuil, Quebec page 4 line 1, John is age 26 listed as farmer and the entries for his wife and child have been mistranscribed. Martha is listed Mathew and their unchristened child as Christine. Matha is listed as age 19 and the child is less than 1 year old.

He was married to Martha Adams (daughter of Alexander Adams and Ellen Trinnear) on 17 Apr 1859 in St. Thomas Gore Quebec. Martha Adams was born on 25 Jan 1842 in Grand Broullie Quebec. She died on 15 Dec 1906 in Randborough Quebec. She was buried in Mapleleaf Cemetry near Randborough. John Hamilton and Martha Adams had the following children:

28 ii. James Hamilton was born in 1861 in Randboro Quebec. He died in 1948. Paul Montgomery has the following in his notes;

Jim Hamilton went to Stockton California where he became a farmer. He married and had children but I don't know their names. he Lived to be about ninety years old.
29 iii. Sarah Jane Hamilton was born on 9 Aug 1863 in Randboro Quebec. She died on 21 Jun 1919. She was buried in Maple Leaf Cemetry near Randboro. The following notes are from Paul Montgomery;

Jane Hamilton never married. She was a dress-maker and always lived in the Sawyerville area. She was not well for a long timer before she died. A new medicine was discovered and she went to Sherbrooke to see about getting some. While she was waiting in the doctor's office, she took a stroke and died. She was not quite 57.

Bill Hamilton was more timid than most of his brothers and sisters. one night, when he was still living at home, he went out with some friends. When he returned home, his father was waiting on the stairs with a club to beat him. he was a carpenter and lived in Manchester NH. He never married. He died in 1942 or 1943.
32 vi. Joseph Hamilton was born on 3 Apr 1868 in Randboro Quebec. He died on 14 Jan 1923 in Baltimore MD. from the notes of Paul Montgomery;

Joe Hamilton became a minister, and lived in the United States. He married , but I don't know whether or not there were children. He died in the 1930's

Bob Hamilton was a carpenter. He did not marry until he was about fourty five. He died suddenly in 1923.

Dave became a salesman, and lived in Weymouth Mass.

38 xii. Albert John Adams Hamilton Dr. was born on 14 Jun 1879. He died in Nov 1923. notes from Paul Montgomery:

Albert became a Doctor. he died very young shortly after his marriage about the year 1930.
