10. Sylvester Henry Hadley was born on 17 Sep 1851 in Reach Twp. Ontario Co. Canada West. He died in Michigan USA.

He was married to Mary Ann Schell on 11 Jan 1872 in Fenelon Falls, Victoria Co. Ont.. notes from Helen Jean Fralick

The only information I can find in Ontario for Sylvester and Mary Ann, after their marriage in 1872, is the 1881 census for Monmouth Twp. Haiburton Co. Sylvester, Mary Ann and four children show on this census. The O.B.R. shows Charles Henry Hadley born Sept 25, 1881 Monmouth Twp. and he was the only child registered in Ontario. A search fo the land registry records in Minden, Ont. for the township of Monmouth every concession and lot show no record of a purchase or lease of property. Perhaps a relative allowed them to stay on their land or they were squatters.

I had been informed by a member fo the Hick's family that Mary Ann and Sylvester moved to the USA. A few months ago out of the blue I received the Schell Records of Mrs. Jane Bryant of Newtonville, Ont. I noticed Mary Ann's brother, George Edward Schell had died Aug 4 1900 at McBain MI. I asked Debra Parminter (grt grt grt granddaugher of Sylvester Hadley and Mary Fralick) of Campbell River BC if she would be good enough to put out a message on the internet for Michigan. Debra received a reply from Deborah Ezop (also a grt grt grt granddaughter of Sylvester Hadley and mary Fralick) of Great Falls Montana USA. The great Grandmother of Deborah Ezop was Carlone Hadley, the third child of Sylvester Hadley and Mary Hadley.

I do not know how they travelled in 1888 to Michigan. In 1888 it was possible to travel by train to Michigan.

They settled in Richland Twp. Missaukee Co. Mich. where four children were born. The census for 1900 for Richland Twp. shows Mary Ann had 13 children with 12 living at the time.

All the children, with the exception of Delos, were named after Hadley, Schell, Hicks and Fralick relatives. Mary Ann Schell was born on 28 Jan 1849 in Scugog Island, Home Dist. Canada West. Sylvester Henry Hadley and Mary Ann Schell had the following children:
