He was Landlord of he Minerva Public House in the Baine's Directory of 1823. He was still Landlord in the census of 1851, living with his wife, son & daughter-in-law & their children.

He was married to Mary Milner on 15 Jun 1815. Mary Milner was born in 1776. She died on 6 Feb 1863. John Fewson and Mary Milner had the following children:
