FIRST GENERATION

1. Nathaniel Boyd was born in 1788 in Fermanagh, Ireland. He died in 1878 in Gore Township, Argenteuil County, Quebec. Notes

Nathaniel Boyd came from the north of Ireland, came to this country as a member of the Royal Staff Corp. After the canal was completed (Rideau), he settles in the north part of Gore and died there not many years sinc, within a few months of 100 years old; Mrs. Boyd died a few years later , at the age of 93. They had six sons and two daughters; three of the former and the two latter are still living. Hugh, one of the sons, and his descendants live in Winnipeg; his son Nathaniel is the present M.P. for Marquette.

Sarah Stewart (daughter of James Stewart and Elizabeth Marks) was born in Fermanagh, Ireland. Nathaniel Boyd and Sarah Stewart had the following children:
